Directions

Both men and women can delight in using this shave crème! Prepare area to shave with a warm moist towel or shave in bath or shower. Smooth onto skin with a small dollop of crème and shave those hairs and cares away. Rinse it off if you like or massage into skin for extra moisture. Zen Shave also works wonders as an aftershave! This crème may be more optimal with certain blades than others, in which case it may be used as an aftershave treatment.

Natural/Organic Ingredients

Golden Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis) – Glorious, golden jojoba nourishes and conditions thirsty skin. Jojoba has unparalleled ability to moisturize the skin, balance oil production, deep clean pores, and create long-lasting conditioning effects that soften skin to perfect silk. It is packed with peptides and lipids and contains the highest levels of phenolic compounds found in nature along with antioxidants and all soluble forms of vitamin E!

Coconut Crème (Cocos nucifera) – Our pure, pristine virgin coconut oil satiates skin, offering magnificent moisture and resilience. Coconut oil is smoothes the appearance of fine lines, and is a sentinel for the skin’s moisture barrier.

Seaweed, Bladderwrack (Fucus vesiculosus) – This succulent seaweed is naturally mucilaginous to lubricate the skin. It is a rich source of essential vitamins and minerals like calcium, magnesium, B vitamins, and silica.

Yucca Root (Yucca elata) – Yucca is a natural cleanser and an ancient Native American remedy for dryness.

Irish Moss (Chondrus crispus) – Irish-Moss is known for its high content of carrageenans, which are often used as a vibrant vegan substitute to gelatin. It is also an amazing natural alternative to synthetic emollients in beauty products. In this shave cream, it is used for its helpful herbal properties, caressing the skin with a soothing embrace.

Marshmallow Root (Althaea officinalis) – The gooey offerings of this root give us an unexpected emollient that is softening and balancing. Marshmallow is used to moisten dry, rough skin, soothe psoriasis, reduce redness, bring balance to overly dry or overly oily skin, and soften dry, cracked nipples that have become sore from nursing.

Slippery Elm (Ulmus rubra) – Slippery Elm is a mucilangenic herb with slippery, soothing benefits that help to soften the skin. Slippery Elm comes from the bark of the tree native to North America. It slips moisture into skin to prevent dryness and redness after shaving.

Plantain Leaf (Plantago major) – Plantain leaf is a gentle toner that can improve the look of large pores, wrinkles, or under-eye circles. Perfect for even the most sensitive skin, plantain smooths and soothes dryness.

Horsetail (Equisetum) – Horsetail has been used herbally for hundreds of years and is also known as Shavegrass and Bottle Brush. Horsetail is packed with nutrients like calcium and iron. It is a terrific toner to calm and cleanse the skin.

Chickweed (Stellaria media) – This sweet little white bloom grows abundantly and bursts with vitamins, including vitamin C. As an herbal infusion, chickweed offers soothing lubrication to the skin.

Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis) – Aloe vera is a magical, succulent plant that grows in warmer climates. It has a sturdy leaf which offers a clear, gelatinous pulp. This pulp creates an incredibly soothing balm for delicate skin. Offering pitch-perfect levels of hydration, aloe has magnificent properties that seep into the skin to relax redness and puffiness. Our aloe vera offers a double dose of moisturizing protection for the skin. As a naturally-occurring moisturizer, it sinks into skin, locking in moisture. At the same time, aloe vera forms a breathable, porous layer on top of the skin to keep moisture in and keep the rest out.

Orange Wax (Citrus aurantium) – This winsome wax is extracted from the pressed peels of oranges and contains fabulous phytosterols. It creates a natural emulsifier that enhances the stability of the crème and entwines the ingredients together.

Peppermint (Mentha peperita) – Peppermint feels nice like ice! It cools and soothes hot, red skin and is reputed to neutralize excessively oily skin and moisturize dry patches. Our zippy peppermint oil is distilled from fresh leaves, and one drop is a juicy wakeup call for the skin and soul.

Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) – Lovely lavender is a gentle-yet-powerful skin tonic that is restorative and calming. It relaxes redness and cools heated. Lavender can be used to improve the appearance of scars, even out skin tone, soothe acne, and balance the skin’s sebum levels.

Grapefruit (Citrus paradisi) – Toning, tightening grapefruit refreshes the skin while lifting sagging tissue and smoothing skin texture.

Sage + Rosemary (Salvia officinalis + Rosmarinus officinalis) CO2 Extracts – This full fragrant symphony of sage and rosemary extracts yields benefits for the skin and sustains this lotion’s freshness with ample antioxidants.     I bought a couple of samples of Zen Shave to take on upcoming summer trips. I gave one to my husband to try. He has redness and isn’t really into men’s skin care. But he’s a true believer now. He says he’s never had a better shave and his skin has never felt better. He’s the guy that usually buys the cheapest thing for himself so he must really love this product because he doesn’t give a wit how much it costs.
