The Holi (stick) deodorant that Launched an Agent Empire: Jena’s Story

When Jena Covello, the creator of Agent Nateur, switched to a cleaner recipe, what was the first cosmetic item she ditched from her skincare regimen? Deodorant with an aluminum basis. Why? because aluminum is thought to mimic estrogen and antiperspirants have a 100% absorption rate. The Los Angeles-based businesswoman eliminated the substance in addition to the apparent danger it posed in order to alleviate the discomfort caused by her hormone-related health problems. “I started Agent Nateur due of my diagnosis of stage four endo and adenomyosis,” she adds. Through my platform, I strive to spread all of the holistic knowledge I’ve acquired. That led us to the development of her original product, holi (stick) deodorant. This blog is all about how the deodorant stick launched an Agent Empire. Here’s Jena’s Story.

Due to a failed laparotomy procedure, I was diagnosed with endometriosis when I was 23 and my entire world was flipped upside down.
Although I thought I was health-conscious, when I was given the news that I had adenomyosis 11 years later, my perspective on everything that I put on and consumed drastically changed.
I was aware that I needed to go ever-deeper into everything I used, even my cosmetics.

When I was just 16 years old, my father introduced me to aluminum. Aluminum is used in deodorants because it blocks your pores and reduces body odor by preventing bacteria from growing on perspiration.

To be completely honest, I believed he was crazy when he warned me to stay away from it. It prevents you from perspiring, which is a whole other issue that we will cover in a subsequent blog post because we NEED to perspire.
A study has shown that when we sweat, we sweat out a crazy number of things like mercury, lead, cadmium, and arsenic that should not be kept inside the body).

Until I was told I had adenomyosis, I had not started looking for a natural deodorant.
Since antiperspirant is an endocrine disruptor that can affect hormones, especially estrogen, all of my natural doctors advised me to quit using it.
Endometriosis and adenomyosis were once believed to be estrogen-dependent disorders. While this can be true in some cases, we are discovering that it is not always the case as science advances.

aluminium

The trouble with aluminum is that it is extremely poisonous to our bodies. It disrupts the endocrine system (meaning it interferes with hormones causing issues like increased estrogen, thyroid imbalance, low libido, fatigue, mood instability, reproductive problems, and more). There are still threats to be faced. It may be harmful to the health of the brain and may hasten neurodegeneration. A study in 1985 confirmed findings from an earlier one that suggested that those suffering from Alzheimer’s actually had high levels of aluminum in their brains.

According to a study that can be found here, the majority of breast cancers occur in the area of the breast that is closest to the underarm, and razor burn may cause antiperspirant chemicals to be absorbed through the skin (as well as absorbed through the layers of the skin more generally). After entering the body, harmful substances like aluminum migrate to the lymph nodes where they aggregate, attempt to drain, but frequently move into the breasts and the larger body instead.

But the issue with conventional deodorants isn’t only the aluminum. I also discovered that deodorants contain a wide range of additional potentially hazardous and poisonous substances, including triclosan, propylene glycol, parabens, and phthalates. I realized that so many things out there were driving inflammation in my body.

I was now committed to getting rid of aluminum and other harmful pollutants.
Today, I genuinely think there is no need to use a harmful component, particularly on the underarms, which can literally absorb anything used.

The following stage of my journey

I started a thorough search for a deodorant that genuinely worked without aluminum.
At the time, there weren’t many high-end natural deodorants available, and the ones I tested didn’t work for me.
After much trial and error, I ultimately made the decision to create my own deodorant utilizing pure, high-end ingredients that worked to eliminate odor while also leaving skin feeling healthier, smoother, and more hydrated.

I began experimenting in my kitchen with my friends and family around, and my special recipe immediately gained widespread acclaim!
Before I knew it, I had developed and released holi (stick), my first deodorant without aluminum.
The remainder is history!

What makes this deodorant so good?

I put a lot of effort into developing this deodorant. But the fact that the ingredients actually function makes me incredibly proud.

I used coconut oil since it is nutritious and has a special mix of fatty acids known for their positive effects on health. Lauric acid, which makes up around 50% of these fatty acids, is believed to alleviate dryness and restore the skin’s normal bacterial balance to lessen odor.

This was paired with avocado butter (produced from the flesh of the avocado fruit). It is delightfully soft and contains the purest fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals found in nature. Upon coming into contact with the skin, this rich balm dissolves, leaving a moisturizing layer with a velvety touch.

The next ingredient to be added to the recipe was castor oil. This rich, natural oil is made by cold-pressing the seeds of the Ricinus communis plant, and it is renowned for hydrating the skin while also lowering microorganisms that cause odor.

I ultimately chose gorgeous lavender. English lavender and spike lavender are naturally hybridized to create lavandin, which is only grown in the South of France (one of my favorite places in the world). It is prized for producing a lot of essential oils and for the aroma of camphor. It is a gorgeously fragrant herb with a fresh, delicate scent. Additionally, it harmonizes the root chakra.

The rest of the range then showed up.

We’ve also made more holi (stick) variants:

*holi (rose) was created in collaboration with Shiva Rose, a skincare creator.
I adore this product since it fights odor with a sensual mix of sultry rose and cozy sandalwood. With essential oils of jasmine, bergamot, and sandalwood, this holi (stick) sensitive was created for even the most delicate skin types and is free of baking soda.

*uni (sex) – a rich smell with earthy top notes that is ideal for the Agent Man and the Agent Woman, made with a combination of cedarwood, Rosa Damascena, vetiver, and cistus; and

Our groundbreaking holi (stick) is still a customer favorite after all these years, and it retains a very special place in my heart because that’s where this amazing journey first started!

We have agent deodorants that are durable enough for combat.

As much as I do, I hope you enjoy these non-toxic additions to your life.
