This smoothing and resurfacing body cleanser functions as both a body wash and a natural exfoliation. It is designed with the best anti-aging, face-grade actives, skin-restorative organic bioactives, and hydrating ingredients. Why should the best things be designed exclusively for your face?

The natural aroma, which is a blend of essential oils, isolates, and absolutes, is evocative of a beguiling oasis in the Arabian desert. With notes of oud, sandalwood, rose, coconut, and chamomile. Sensual, regal, and enigmatic. It has a lovely woody, flowery, and toasty flavor.
Holi (wash) hydrates while also purifying, nourishing, and balancing the skin. The sensual, purifying holi (wash) recipe takes you on a gel to oil to creamy foam body wash adventure every time you use it. It is deeply rich and nourishing, yet never drying.

Great for all skin types, holi (wash) is powered by lactic acid, a gentle exfoliant that washes away all remnants of dirt and pollution on your skin, and works alongside organic bioactives like Daisy Extract, Cyathea Medullaris Leaf Extract and Algae Extract that work to deliver a balanced, even and luminous complexion. The bioactive selection’s powerful antioxidant and antipollution capabilities help to protect against oxidative stress and free radicals while also fast hydrating skin and promoting moisture retention.The ingredients in holi (wash) work to nourish supple, ageless-looking, firm, and luminous skin. They are also formulated with a lovely natural peony root extract, a nourishing botanical that offers exfoliating and antioxidant benefits for the body, as well as calming aloe leaf and the deeply nourishing jojoba, almond oil, and vitamin E.

• Lactic Acid: a gentle exfoliant that dissolves dead skin cells from your body without irritation. This natural acid works to emulsify dirt, oil, pollution and makeup from the face and body while clarifying the skin, refining texture, and alleviating dryness. Lactic acid washes away dullness to reveal youthful-looking, firm, luminous skin.
• Peony Root Extract: as well as exfoliating and removing dead skin, the beautiful peony root extract also offers antioxidant benefits that reduce the appearance of premature aging. This nourishing botanical fosters brighter-looking skin, increases firmness, and soothes dryness as well as working to reduce the appearance of premature aging and supporting brighter-looking skin.
• Daisy Flower: extracted from organic daisy flowers, the daisy flower extract is a natural skin-evening agent that helps to nurture a balanced, even but luminous complexion for radiant full body skin. Packed full of organic compounds and amino acids that naturally brighten the look of skin, daisy flower influences cellular pathways in the body that help to manage and even skin tone, body pigmentation and age spots.
• Cyathea medullaris leaf extract: an extract obtained from leaves of the Mamaku black tree fern, native to New Zealand, is composed of biopolymers that work together to lift and tighten the skin, as well as reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Packed with outstanding antioxidant and antipollution properties, this extract also works to shield against urban pollution and free radicals as well as rapidly hydrating skin and facilitating moisture retention.
• Algae Extract: a rich bioactive compound, high in antioxidant properties and molecules like omega 3 fatty acids, amino acids and vitamins A, B, C and E, algae extract promotes full body skin benefits. • Glycyrrhiza Glabra: the flowering plant of licorice and a natural tyrosinase inhibitor, composed of glabridin that plays a vital role in inhibiting tyrosinase activity and providing skin brightening effects. Glycyrrhiza Glabra can also reduce pigmentation induced by UVB rays, evening your skin tone.
• Glycerin: a powerful humectant that attracts water, helping to leave your skin moisturized and smoothed post-bath or shower. Sourced from the USA, this moisturizing agent is a fast track to soft, supple skin.
• Jojoba Oil: with deeply hydrating, nourishing and anti-aging properties, jojoba oil delivers a velvety, smooth skin radiance, as well as working to stimulate collagen production all over the body, balance skin tone, regulate the production of sebum, shield against UV damage and also help with the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles – particularly helpful for the chest & decolletage area.
• Sweet Almond Oil: contains vitamins and nutrients that hydrate, nourish and warm the skin, offering long-lasting moisture, warmth and comfort long after your shower or bath has ended.
• Vitamin E: antioxidant vitamin E battles free-radical damage while also delivering hydrational benefits, both absorbing water into the skin and keeping it there. With its moisturizing and softening benefits, it can also help to strengthen skin barrier function, helping skin all over the body.

Does Holi (Body) Oil works for Psoriasis?

A very medicinal ingredient in holi(body) that does wonders for those of you who suffer from psoriasis. That Ingredient is Orza Sativa– a Japanese rice bran oil that is Full of antioxidants, vitamins B and E, and wonderful natural emollients.

Psoriasis is one of the commonest chronic inflammatory disorders. If you have psoriasis flare ups, you’re not alone—2 to 3 percent of the total population suffer from this condition.This skin disease results from a complex and dynamic interplay between genetic and environmental factors that trigger an excessive inflammatory response in the skin.

A study was done aiming to evaluate the role of Orza sativa in alleviating the symptoms of psoriasis .The results showed that the rice extract reduced the severity of psoriasis by “decreasing the epidermal thickness, acanthosis, hyperkeratosis, epidermal inflammation and degree of apoptosis induction via caspase-3,increasing the expression levels of anti-inflammatory cytokines (IL-10 and TGF-β), reducing the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-6, IL-8, IL-20, IL-22 and TNF-α), chemokines (CCL-20) and anti-microbial peptides (psoriasinand β-defensin), enhancing the antioxidative property (Nrf-2),downregulating the levels of psoriasis-associated genes (psoriasin, β-defensin, koebnerisin 15L and koebnerisin 15S) andupregulating the levels of psoriasis-improving genes (caspase-14, involucrin and filaggrin) Thus, the extract appears to exert therapeutic effects on psoriasis through its antioxidative and immunomodulatory properties”

Is your skin microbiome just as important as your gut microbiome?

Here’s an amazing fun fact that is really mind blowing. Our skin is our largest organ in the body. There’s a whole ecosystem living on our skin that’s made of billions of bacteria, microbes, fungi and virus’s! Working in unison with our skin barrier, our skin microbiome protects the body from external sensitivities and different types of pathogenic invasions. When our microbiome is flourishing and balanced our skin looks gorgeous and feels healthy, but when we tamper with this ecosystem our skins defence system fails and we start to deal with a broken skin barrier. Our skin barrier is our first line of defence! When this barrier becomes damaged our skin becomes vulnerable. Irritants and allergens seep in and water evaporates leaving the skin dull, dry, dehydrated, and prone to inflammation. What’s key here is diversity and keeping this ecosystem in balance!

If I have a broken skin barrier, how can I start healing my skin?

Use a daily cleanser that is oil based like our Holi(cleanse) that is gentle and wont strip away the skin barrier
Pay attention to your diet and eat nourishing foods that feed the gut microbiome. We have something called the gut-brain-skin axis which shows that the bacteria we have residing in the gut influences all the bacteria we have on our skin and vice vera.
Get full spectrum sunlight on the skin
Protect the skin barrier integrity using products that keep the skins PH balanced and moisturized. All of my skincare products are full of ingredient’s that help heal your skin and retain more water. This water retention helps the enzymes on your skin work optimally! These ingredients include things like hyaluronic acid, fatty acids.
Replace other acids that dry out the skin and damage the skin barrier for lactic acid found in my acid (wash) lactic acid brightening cleanser which increases moisture levels in the skin by binding to water! Unlike other acids that weaken the skin barrier, lactic acid strengthens it by encouraging it to make more ceramides. These protect the skin from pollution and other environmental stressors.
Reduce your stress levels as your skin is an extension of your nervous system
Make sure to hydrate on the cellular level. Your cells loose water throughout the day through things like physical activity, environmental pollution and generally just living life. Keeping the body hydrated is fundamental! The skin is always a last priority so if the body is lacking proper hydration the skin will be the first to suffer. Thing is, drinking water doesn’t guarantee hydration as this water needs to get inside your cells! Fiber helps your body absorb water at a higher level so eating things like fruits and vegetables are sometimes more hydrating than drinking water itself. To build a charge necessary for proper hydration you can use electrolytes to increase the charge across membranes.
