Historically, Clove oil was used to numb tooth pain. Since ancient times clove has helped keep mouths clean and healthy. As its Latin name suggests, Clove Bud contains a high concentration of a unique constituent called eugenol. Eugenol gives Clove Bud oil its impressive action against pathogens and microbes. With its warming, spicy fragrance, Clove Bud essential oil brings a flavorful, healing boost to any blend.

Uses
Always used diluted (1-3%) in Coconut oil, Olive oil or Honey as a culinary oil. It may also be diluted in a carrier oil such as Jojoba or Seabuckthorn. Apply diluted in the mouth or along floss for the freshest breath. Add to a diffuser with a few drops of cinnamon oil, a citrus oil, or fir oils for a warm, inviting fragrance in the home. Lovely in massage liniments with lavender too. The essential oil can be used as a culinary replacement for the dried spice, too – a little dab will do!

Very potent oil with deep and almost smokey smell. I use it in my homemade tooth serum, but also to diffuse.
