Pogostemon cablin
The Indian variant of Patchouli is among the finest qualities you can find on the market today. Unlike lesser-quality Patchoulis, this oil boasts a complex aroma due to proper aging. It carries a rich blend of sweet, herbal, aromatic, and woody undertones, with an almost wine-like floral sweetness that lingers during its evaporation stages.
Much like Vetiver, Sandalwood, Cedar, and Frankincense, Patchouli serves as a perfume stabilizer. These stabilizers are crucial for maintaining the longevity of top and middle notes on your skin. Beyond its role in perfumery, Patchouli is commonly found in skincare products. Its soothing properties work wonders in rejuvenating your skin and can be particularly effective in treating red, irritated skin commonly seen in adolescents. Moreover, it’s also used in carrier oil solutions for nail care, especially when dealing with yellowing or cracking nails.
In terms of mental well-being, Patchouli is often linked with its sensual qualities, making it ideal for setting a romantic atmosphere. A blend of Patchouli, Ylang-ylang, Bergamot, and Frankincense in your diffuser can cultivate an environment of love and emotional upliftment.
Aromatic Characteristics:
- Role in Perfumery: Base note and stabilizer
- Scent Profile: Soft and earthy, rounded out by mild herbaceous and slightly spicy elements
- Initial Aroma Intensity: Moderate to strong
- Harmonizes Well With: Myrrh, Sandalwood, Lavender, Clary Sage, Cypress, Lemon, and Cinnamon
Size: 15 ml
How to use
For Use in Massage or As a Perfume: The fragrance of Patchouli is sumptuous, earthy, and powerful. Given its robust base note, it can easily dominate other essential oils in a blend. To avoid this, it’s advised to limit Patchouli to a maximum of 5% of the overall oil composition when mixing. Begin with a single drop and allow some time to pass before introducing more. Once you’re satisfied with your blend, you can dilute it with a carrier oil of your choice. This formulation is versatile: use it as a massage oil or simply dab a few drops onto your wrists to act as a perfume or mild deodorant.
Additional Recommended Applications:
Inhale from Palm: When diluted with a high-quality carrier oil like Marula or Jojoba, our Patchouli oil is perfect for direct palm inhalation.
Relaxing Bath: Incorporate it into a bath oil mixture for a deeply hydrating and nourishing experience.
Nighttime Body Oil: Combine Patchouli with skin-nourishing oils like Frankincense, and then dilute it with Coconut or Rose Hip Seed oil. Apply this blend gently all over your body before sleep to absorb its therapeutic qualities and awaken revitalized.
Sensual Evening Blend: Create an ambiance of love and sensuality by blending Patchouli with Jasmine and Rose. Add this blend to a massage oil base or into a spritzer bottle filled with water and mist throughout your living space.
Store away from heat & light.
