Originating from the harsh desert landscapes of Namibia in sun-soaked southwestern Africa, Commiphora wildii, a stubby plant with reddish-purple branches, secretes droplets of aromatic amber resin in the heat of summer. This versatile myrrh resin, cherished for centuries by the Namibian population, was traditionally combined with fat and ochre to produce a balm. This balm, admired for its pleasant fragrance and skin-nourishing benefits, was typically applied to the skin.
With a truly unique fragrance, this wild Myrrh imparts a warm, lemon-balsamic scent and releases sesquiterpenes known for their skin-calming effects, such as hydration, softening, toning, and purifying.
