Its history stretches back to ancient times, when it was prized as both an oil and an incense for spiritual inspiration and ceremony. This essential oil is steam distilled from the branches and twigs of the sandalwood tree.
Sandalwood is among the most valuable essential oils in the world. Of the at least five species of sandalwood trees used in oil production, several are endangered — which is why the eco-project we source from maintains a firm commitment to never harvesting from any at-risk species. Santalum spicatum, known as Australian Sandalwood, is organically grown and sustainably harvested, reflecting our deep commitment to ecological responsibility.

Blending Notes
Australian Sandalwood offers a rich, woody, smoky scent with sweet heart notes that complement its balsamic base tones. It lingers on the skin longer than most oils, settling into a dry, woody aroma once absorbed — and it blends beautifully with virtually any essential oil.

Blends well with rose and neroli; wood oils like frankincense and cedarwood; earthy oils such as patchouli and vetiver; and florals such as jasmine sambac and ylang ylang.

How to use

Signature Perfume
Sandalwood is a supreme natural perfume — its fragrance is universally loved and its aromatic depth is unmatched. Apply a drop to the wrists, neck, crown of the head, and center of the chest for a grounding, transformative effect.
Meditation Anointment
Place one drop between the eyebrows before meditation to encourage a serene, clear state of mind.
Radiant Skin
Add one to two drops to your facial moisturizer or apply directly as a rejuvenating skin tonic. Sandalwood is a beautiful choice for all skin types and is especially effective when used alongside lavender and helichrysum to help soothe skin that has been overexposed to the sun.
Relaxation
Massage several drops into the temples and back of the neck to calm the mind. Particularly lovely added to a warm bath.
Diffuser
Diffuse to promote deep, restful sleep or anytime a calm, peaceful atmosphere is needed. Wonderful to diffuse around children during quiet time.
Warm Compress
Apply a warm compress over dry or reddened skin to help cool and hydrate.
Daily Moisturizing
Stir one to two drops into your regular moisturizer as part of your daily skincare routine for ongoing skin health and radiance.
