If your roots turn greasy by midday or your hair feels weighed down no matter what you try, Citrus Yao was made to fix that. This sulfate-free bar lifts away excess oil and product buildup, skipping the tight, stripped-out feeling that most clarifying shampoos leave behind.

At its core is Longsheng rice water — a fermented treatment the Red Yao women of southern China have relied on as the centerpiece of their hair care for generations. Rich in amino acids and inositol, it works to strengthen each strand, while a citrus-oil blend cuts through oil and buildup for a lighter, cleaner feel.

Scent: A bright, clean citrus blend of grapefruit and lime with a subtle green undertone, inspired by the fruit stands of Red Yao village markets.
What it feels like: A light, foamy lather that cuts oil on contact, leaving hair to dry with lift and bounce right at the roots. No residue, no wax, no weigh-down.
