Root Vanish Hair Color Shampoo for Gray Hair

Our gentle cleansing formula coats each strand from root to tip with a hydrating color, while also moisturizing and revitalizing the scalp and hair follicles.

Our advanced gray and roots-concealing shampoo now boasts 20 anti-aging botanicals, up from 8, enriching the hair and scalp with nourishment, hydration, and strength. Additionally, five new plant-based oils have been added to moisturize and shield the hair from dryness, UV rays, and environmental damage.

Unlike many coloring products that can dry out the roots—potentially leading to graying and hair loss—our Hair Color Shampoo cleanses gently and infuses hydration deeply into each hair follicle with a rich, fine lather.

How to use 

Like any other shampoo, use our Color Shampoo! To make a dense, fine foam, pump out the shampoo into your hands and lather into the scalp and hair using your fingers or the scalp massaging brush that comes with it. When you have a thick lather, thoroughly rinse with water.

You can use Color Shampoo once a week or every day in place of your usual shampoo. With every use, the shampoo gently tints hair, so you can gradually get to a shade that you think best suits your skin tone.

The Color Shampoo does not transfer onto pillowcases or clothes, especially once hair is dry. If the hair is freshly shampooed and not thoroughly washed thereafter, and the user goes to bed with wet hair, it may transfer if there is still residue of the product in the hair or on the scalp.

The product does not stain the tiles in the bathroom as long as it is wiped off right away with water. It helps if the bathroom tiles are already somewhat wet, too. Same goes for hands. It is best to thoroughly wet your hands before applying the Color Shampoo.

The Scalp Massage shampoo & conditioner works fabulously for dry scalp with flakes. It may not be an overnight transformation but the scalp should regain balance and hydration with use. The conditioner should be applied to the scalp (not just hair tips) so that it can act as a “skincare cream” but for the scalp.

Notes

Since the Color Shampoo works gradually, it’s not unusual for the first few uses to show very subtle changes, especially if you’re using it just a few times a week. Most customers begin to notice a visible softening or blending of grays starting around the 5th use – depending on the hair condition and the water and other elements addressed below, it can take up to 10 washes, especially if the shampoo is not used frequently or other shampoos are used in between Color Shampoo applications.

That said, there are several tips and tricks that can help you get the most out of the formula.

Tips to Maximize Color Results

Double Shampoo Method
For best results, we highly recommend using the Color Shampoo twice during each wash session:
The first wash helps remove oils, styling products, or residue that may block pigment adherence.
The second wash allows the botanical pigments to properly deposit on clean strands for more effective color adherence to each hair strand.
Also, the foamier you make the the shampoo, the better color deposit and distribution as well.
Let the Color Shampoo sit for 3–5 Minutes
After lathering during the second application, let the product sit for a few minutes before rinsing. This gives the pigment time to bond to the hair shaft.
Be Consistent
The more frequently you use it (daily or every other day is ideal in the first few weeks), the more noticeable the color buildup becomes — all while keeping your hair and scalp healthy. Try not to use other shampoos in the meantime as it can take off the color you are trying to build up if it has more harsher chemical ingredients.
Target Trouble Areas
Focus extra product directly on sections with higher gray concentration (e.g., roots, hairline). Gently massage in to ensure even coverage.
Avoid Product Buildup & Hair Oils
Styling products and oils can sometimes interfere with color adherence. Keeping hair clean and minimizing heavy products between washes can help.

Important Note on Conditioners:

Some conditioners contain ingredients that may unintentionally strip the color before it has time to adhere properly.
