Microneedling is a method for creating microscopic entry sites, commonly known as microwounds, all over your scalp using needles that are at least 0.5mm long. By promoting the wound healing process to reawaken follicles for enhanced hair growth and quality, microneedling increases the efficacy of hair treatments.
- Activates hair follicles that are damaged or inactive. Anagen (hair growth), Catagen (follicle shrinkage), and Telogen are the three stages of hair growth (hair fall). For follicles in the telogen phase, microwounds trigger the epidermal stem cells and wound healing process. As a result, hair growth is stimulated and damaged or dormant follicles are assisted in entering the anagen phase once more.
increases the rate of absorption of scalp treatments. - Compared to oral drugs, microwounds increase permeability for dependable and constant absorption of scalp therapies. The necessity for digestion, which reduces the efficacy of treatments, is avoided via direct absorption.
encourages the growth of new, thicker hair. - Encourages the growth of new, thicker hair. Microneedling induces stem cells for repair by creating microscopic wounds, which causes the skin to revascularize and nourish the follicles. The microwounds will operate as vasodilators, reactivating and restoring the follicles’ access to the body’s proteins, nutrients, and other sources of nutrition.
encourages the growth of new, thicker hair.
Patients with androgenetic alopecia (AGA) experience shorter, weaker hair strands that resemble the body’s invisible hair strands because the damaged hair follicles are decreasing. The follicles undergo a shorter growth phase and develop a greater sensitivity to DHT, which suffocates the follicle by blocking proteins. In the affected locations, this causes a decrease in hair density.
By making tiny incisions, microneedling activates epidermal stem cells and dermal papilla (DP) cells. The dermal papilla (DP), a group of specialized fibroblasts, controls the growth and activity of different follicle cells, which is essential for controlling hair growth and cycle. When signals from the DP cells get to the epidermal stem cells, which are in charge of wound healing, hair follicle regeneration starts.
How to use
Before using, spritz the roller head with rubbing alcohol or a sanitizing agent, and let it air dry. Roll gently on the dry scalp while applying minimal pressure. At least once each week, roll problematic areas or your entire scalp 5–10 times back and forth. For optimal absorption, apply your scalp treatment(s) to the entire scalp after rolling. When not in use, sanitize the roller head and keep the derma roller in the storage container. Replace when needles feel blunt or every three to six months.
CLEANING + SANITATION GUIDE
Before using, we advise spraying the roller head with rubbing alcohol or another sanitizing agent and letting it air dry.
Clean the roller head after each use, then put the derma roller in its storage container.
On a clean scalp, we advise utilizing our derma roller. If your scalp is not clean, we advise using a damp cotton pad with soapy water or shampoo to remove oils and debris along the scalp line before gently using the Derma Roller.
