This 100% plant-based dye is especially helpful for covering grays. It also works beautifully as a pre-treatment before applying brown henna to help it adhere better to stubborn gray roots. Made with the highest quality Lawsonia inermis (red henna), it’s free from chemicals, metals, parabens, and synthetic additives—making it safe for all hair types, including facial hair.
One packet provides enough product for a full application on shoulder-length hair.
Size: 4 oz / 113 g
🌿 Why Choose Morocco Method Henna?
- 100% natural and chemical-free
- Free from PPD, ammonia, parabens, and metallic salts
- Nourishes and conditions the scalp and hair
- Safe for gray coverage, beards, and mustaches
- A healthy alternative to synthetic dyesWe strongly recommend performing a strand or patch test before applying henna to the head to ensure the desired color is achieved, especially because henna cannot be safely bleached or highlighted.
Some grey or previously damaged hair may also be a bit resistant to the dye (this will result in a brassy orange color) and may require a priming application / second application on virgin hair, and it’s best to be aware of that and have the supplies available ahead of time.
🔄 Mixing & Applying Red Henna
Ingredients:
- Red Henna Packet (1 bag)
- Strong black tea, 2 cups, cooled
- Apple cider vinegar (raw) or fresh lemon juice, up to 3 tbsp
- (Optional) Morocco Method Euro Oil, 1–3 tsp
- (Optional) Clove, ginger, or cinnamon powder, 1–3 tsp (to reduce henna scent)
- Optional Liquid Substitutes:
Apple or orange juice (2 cups) - Herbal teas like chamomile or rosemary (2 cups, cooled)
- Filtered warm water (with or without lemon juice)
🧴 Instructions:
Mix the Paste
Empty the red henna into a non-metal bowl. Add optional spices and your chosen acid (ACV or lemon juice). Then, slowly pour in the tea until the mixture has a yogurt-like consistency—thick but spreadable.
Add Euro Oil
Stir in 1–3 tsp Euro Oil if needed (especially if you used a lot of acid). Don’t exceed 3 tsp, as too much oil can prevent proper color absorption.
Let It Sit
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, pressing out air. Let the mixture rest for 8–12 hours (longer if your room is cooler than 60°F). When ready, the surface will darken to a rich reddish-brown—indicating dye release.
Prep and Apply
Section clean, dry (or towel-dried) hair. Apply Euro Oil to your hairline and ears to prevent staining. With gloves on, apply the paste from roots to tips.

Cover and Wait
Wrap hair in plastic wrap or a shower cap. Add a warm fabric cap on top to trap heat and moisture. Leave in for 1–4 hours, depending on desired intensity. Do not leave overnight.
Rinse Out
Rinse thoroughly with cool water (no shampoo). Use a drain catcher to prevent clogs. If needed, use Pearl Essence Crème Rinse or a few drops of Euro Oil to help rinse out the henna.
Post-Care
Wait 24 hours before shampooing. The full color will develop over 72 hours and last 8–12 weeks.
⚠️ Important Notes About Chemical Dyes
Morocco Method Henna is pure plant dye—free from any chemicals or metallic salts.
You can use it on chemically dyed hair, but wait 6–8 weeks after your last dye to allow your hair to detox.
If switching back to chemical dyes later, also wait 6–8 weeks after henna.
Lightening henna-dyed hair with conventional dye often leads to unpredictable or unwanted results, including green tones (especially if indigo was used).
Henna bonds strongly to the hair, making it difficult to lift out with bleach or developer without causing damage.
You can safely dye your hair the same shade or darker, but not lighter.
