(Recipe) Dutch Apple and Pear Spiced Crumble

Ingredients

For the filling:

  • 3 medium apples (peeled, cored, and sliced)
  • 2 ripe pears (peeled, cored, and sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the crumble topping:

  • 1 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup almond flour (or regular flour)
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or almonds
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil or butter (melted)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Prepare the filling: In a mixing bowl, toss the sliced apples and pears with maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and vanilla extract until well coated. Spread the mixture evenly in the baking dish.
