5-HTP FROM GRIFFONIA (THE “LUCKY CHARM”) -5-Hydroxitryptophan (5-HTP for short) is a neurotransmitter and belongs to the amino acids that the human body can produce itself. 5-HTP is essential for the production of serotonin (happiness hormone). The seeds of the South African plant Griffonia simplicifolia contain 5-HTP (hydroxytryptophan), which is converted into serotonin in our body and which can be absorbed and utilised particularly well by the body. The happiness hormone serotonin is involved in numerous processes in the body and controls, for example, mental well-being, mood, the feeling of satiety, but also the day-night rhythm (sleep). If our organism does not produce enough 5-HTP, 5-HTP as a food supplement can compensate for the deficit.
