Sunday Self-Love Ritual

BLOG - Sunday Self-Love Ritual - Eva Lamas

A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was,
the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove…
but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.

I have a challenging job

Working as a school teacher in an area that faces poverty and crime can many times be a pure challenge.
However, when summer comes and school is finally over and your students leave you all kind of goodbye letters full of love and hearty words, you realize that every battle you gave this year had a meaning.
And you made a difference to so many children’s lives. And this is a huge reward.
My daily life at work was most of the times exhausting. And when I was finally returning home, preparing next day’s class, doing some paperwork, walking the dog, preparing dinner, doing all kind of home stuff, were leaving me with zero energy level…

It was like my personal life was actually starting during weekend, when I finally had time for my hobbies, my friends, for hiking in nature with my dog, for taking care of my plants (I love growing my own veggies) and for doing my grocery for the week.

My Sunday self -love ritual

What actually saved my energy levels this whole year was my Sunday self-love routine.

Or better, my Sunday self -love ritual.
The “ME-ME” time, as I like calling it.
It seems like lately everybody speaks about self-love routines. Youtubers, beauty bloggers, magazines, the term “self-love routine” is everywhere.
But is it a trend or a need?
For me it is definitely a need. And I believe that most women had days dedicated to their beauty and self-care, long before the term.
Visiting spas or nail bars with friends, having someone doing your makeup before an important date, having your hair done etc, “self-care” hours or days were always there.
For me this routine helped me boost my energy, clear my mind and stay connected with my body and myself.

I am kind of a picky person

From the free ranged eggs I buy on the farmers market to the lady that makes my customized jewelry, it is important for me to know where my products come from (at least most of them).
Especially for the things I put in and on my body I am very careful choosing always the best quality.

This is why the products I use are the Living Libations. These products are on the pricey side but

  1. they are the best of the best
  2. handmade, organic, ethical, wild-crafted and
  3. a little goes a long way and therefore you actually save money.

The shop from which I buy them is the Dutch Health Store with the beautiful lady Wilma who is always helpful and willing to give you advice about the products you should try based on your needs.
So…here come my self-love ritual steps:

Meditating with my healing crystals

Firstly, I am lighting my Delizioso Vanilla Sorbet Candle while meditating with my healing crystals.

This amazing soy candle, a heavenly blend of the purest oils, keeps home smelling like fresh baked cookies and the most amazing thing about it is that it can also be used as body oil.

Pampering my hair

I love pampering my hair with beneficial oils and this is why I cannot stay without the Living Libations Crowning Glory Hair Oil.

The ingredients list of this blend is amazing and it leaves hair soft, shiny and silky.
It is a very beneficial formula for both hair and scalp and it also improves hair growth. I leave it about an hour on my hair wrapped in a lightweight turban towel.

Dry brushing

Before I take my bath, I also dry brush with my beloved Living libations Body and Breast Brush.

Dry brushing helped my body much, especially when dealing with cellulite. This brush is the perfect size and texture for body brushing and is powerful yet gentle enough for the skin.

For washing my hair, I use the True Blue Spirulina shampoo,
a perfect shampoo for sensitive scalp and dry hair that leaves hair healthy and silky.

On my body I use the Delizioso Mango Palm-free Artisan Soap full of raw butters and oils that leaves skin baby soft.

When I get out of bath, I hydrate both face and body with
Best Skin Ever Chocolate and I practice some facial massage with my rose quartz gua sha.

Breasts can actually regenerate!

Massage my breasts with the Breast massage oil is a crucial step of my routine because it also gives me the chance to check my breasts in front of the mirror.
Our breasts suffer a lot. Bras, hormones, toxic “beauty” products..

However, a very important information that I learned from the Living Libations website is that Cells in our breasts can actually regenerate!!
So breast massage with specific botanical oils is a simple step to keep our breasts healthy.

BLOG - Breast massage

“Breast massage with Breast Massage Oil is a regenerative practice to stimulate circulation and lymph drainage. Cypress, yarrow and laurel oils generate the movement of the fluid that removes toxins and supplies fresh nutrition to the cells. Massage encourages the body to release excess stored estrogen, move debris-fluid away from the spaces between cells, and return the fluid to the bloodstream to be eliminated. Over time, massaging the breasts may also enhance the elasticity of the ligaments in the chest providing improved breast support’’
Nadine Artemis

This oil is a must have for every lady out there. Massaging your breasts with this blend is both practical and pleasant. And in some cases, life saving.
Breast health concerns all of us and our breasts worth all love and care.

Sweet sleep

For a very sweet sleep, I burn in my bedroom the “Diffuser Blend Bed Time Story.
This bedtime blend is a relaxing combination of chamomile, lavender, tangerine and spikenard not only for children but also for very tired and stressed adults. It can be also sprayed on pillows.

So, I wear my organic cotton pyjamas, make some herbal tea, sit in my couch with my blanket and my dog watching a nice movie and feeling blessed…and completely ready for another challenging week ahead.

Never forget pampering your beautiful self…in this crazy world, we all need and worth some special “ME-ME” hours…

Much Love,
Eva?
