There are numerous varieties of Vitamin A derivatives available, each with a unique performance profile, level of potency and adverse effects. The idea that using retinol and retinoids and lead to dry, flaky skin or that they are bad for persons with dry skin is one of the most frequently expressed worries. While it’s true that some retinoids, particularly retinol and tretinoin, have drying adverse effects, the HPR retinoids in Aqua A are constructed differently.

  1. Even in cloudy weather, remember to use SPF!
    It’s important to protect your skin while using retinoids every day, not just on sunny days.
  2. Put on layers! Winter is the greatest time to utilize your nourishing serums and calming moisturizers, and we’re not just talking about sweater weather. To assist your skin absorb and seal in water, try applying a rich occlusive moisturizer as the final step in your evening routine.
  3. If your skin is really dry or sensitive, use the buffering method! Aqua A is designed to be used as the initial layer of skincare after cleansing and is made with highly nourishing elements that help avoid over-drying. But people with really dry and/or sensitive skin may find that layering a gentle moisturizer under your retinoid can help prevent sensitization. This “buffering” slows down the absorption process of your retinoid, which can help reduce irritation.
