Collagen is found in your skin, bones, tendons and connective tissues, among other things. You use Bonusan UC-II® plus because it contributes to the normal formation of connective tissue, thanks to manganese.

Bonusan UC-II® plus also contains some supporting extracts of green-lipped mussel, turmeric, boswellia and feverfew in addition to the scientifically researched collagen type 2. The complex also contributes to the maintenance of normal bones thanks to vitamin D3, manganese and zinc.

Do you prefer to use collagen pills or powder?

What makes Bonusan UC -II® plus so special?

Bonusan UC-II® plus includes the proprietary collagen source UC-II® as a raw material. Undenatured type 2 collagen is what UC-II® is. Undenatured collagen has an intact (spatial) structure and requires much lower doses.

When cooking, for instance, proteins like collagen can become denaturized. In the process, the protein’s structure and characteristics change. When you boil an egg, for instance, the proteins transform from liquid and transparent to solid and opaque white. Therefore, denatured proteins are present in cooked eggs. As type 2 collagen in UC-II® has not been denatured, its structure and characteristics are still intact.

Collagen that has been hydrolyzed is also present. These are peptides from collagen. Collagen peptides are easier for the body to absorb since the collagen structure has already been broken down into tiny bits. This only applies to type 1 collagen, which requires high doses and for which absorption is crucial.
