Organic Skincare

We aim to prove that nature gives us all we need.

We believe that the best skincare is the kind of care that goes deeper than skin. Not just to make us look better, but make us feel and act better. It is care for our well being and self-esteem, care about the choices we make, the values we respect, and care for the environmental footprint we leave.

For the Nordic people, often introverted and solitary beings, what is on the inside has always been more important than how we look. That’s why we insist on truly effective ingredients, honest claims, environmentally friendly packaging, care, passion and respect. Because a radiant heart leads to radiant skin.

It’s time to discover beauty that knows and meets your skin’s deepest needs.

More about Mádara

Nature is a generous source of beauty ingredients.

From omega-bursting berry seeds to energizing birch water, fragrant plants, and even mushrooms.

We transform the natural raw materials into physiologically active compounds using cutting-edge technology, then incorporate them into pure formulae that have a track record of success.

It's in our blood

Over thousands of years, our harsh and cold Northern climate has nurtured plants with extraordinary properties. Those deep roots, bitter leaves and gnarled barks have healed wounds and saved lives. And the hard-won knowledge and wisdom of survival, passed from mother to daughter, from father to son, is still in our blood. Now in the 21st century we aim to prove that nature gives us all we need. We scrutinise legends about Northern healing herbs under the penetrating gaze of doctors in the fierce light of scientific labs. In our unending quest to discover more of what nature still hides, scientific validation is a must for every of our ingredients and final creations. Strangely enough, it s a scarcity of resources and sunlight that has turned us into sharp-eyed perfectionists, focused on detail, design and, above all, quality.

Do we call it luxury?

What does luxury mean to you? Is it wearing an expensive dress? Or diving naked in a lonely forest lake at dawn? It could be both. For us, luxury means our wild Northern forests and fertile soil. Our cool seas and vast sandy coasts, where we sit alone gazing at the wonder of Northern lights. Our old wooden country cottages, miles apart from one another. The luxury of seasons with our golden autumns, crystal winters, longed-for springs and painfully short Northern summers. The luxury of raw, pure and precious natural ingredients refined to their highest potential. That's what's under our skin.

Frequently Asked Questions

The formulation of a product's recipe and its evaluation involve a panel of customers. There are a variety of skin types represented on the panel, including those with sensitive and allergy-prone skin. After testing a sample, the panel discusses their impressions of the product and how their skin responded.
When modifying and putting the finishing touches on recipes, their input is considered. After a product is produced, it is examined in a lab where various physical and chemical characteristics are measured, stability and expiration dates are established, and standards for storage are researched and developed. A certified chemist conducts legal testing on the product to ensure that it satisfies safety and consistency requirements. A dermatologist then reviews the product for clearance. Individuals of various ages and skin types use the product under the surveillance of a certified dermatologist, and report their reactions. The product is tested to make certain that it does not cause allergic reactions or irritation. Dermatologist tests have shown MÁDARA products to be hypoallergenic and irritation-free.

Some MÁDARA products contain lanolin (Daily Defence Ultra rich balm) and beeswax (Deep Moisture fluid, Creamy baby oil, SPF products and lip balms).
The remaining goods are all vegan. There is a significant difference between the lanolin and beeswax that we use and those that are used by other cosmetic manufacturers who do not have certified natural and organic labels, even though we employ animal-based ingredients in these products. We only utilize lanolin, honey, and beeswax that are produced in a manner that is tightly monitored because we are ECOCERT certified (controlled by ECOCERT). To ensure that animals are not injured in any way, this means that the sheep farming and beekeeping, as well as how the materials are collected, are all closely regulated.

Flowers and herbs from Baltic meadows and woods make up the active ingredients at the very core of MÁDARA products. The natural environment in the Baltic region is distinctive due to the significantly shorter northern summers, which give flowers much less time to draw bees for pollination. Plants are forced to focus all of their blossoming energy during this brief blossoming period. As a result, they are abundant in the active chemicals needed to survive in harsh climates during the time of harvest.
