Constituenten: <\/strong>Fascinerend unieke methylesters (methoxyalkanen en methoxydecanen), serratol, \u03b1-pineen, \u03b1-thuceen, limoneen, sabineen, myrceen, \u03b2-caryofylleen, en p-cymeen. De chemische samenstelling van gehydrolyseerd Boswellia occulta<\/em> oleogum-hars bestaat hoofdzakelijk uit deze zeldzame, nooit botanisch bekende, methylethers (34,5-62%-62.6%), 1-methoxydecaan (26,6-47%-47.9%) en 1-methoxyoctaan (3,6-8%-8.6%). Andere belangrijke componenten zijn de diterpene alcohol serratol (2,7%-31,8%) en de sesquiterpene alcohol 4,10-di-epi<\/em>-guaiol (tot15.1%). Occulta<\/em> bevat een vleugje monoterpeenkoolwaterstoffen en zuurstofhoudende monoterpeno\u00efden (respectievelijk 0,3%-11,6% en 0,1%-1,0%). De huidminnende sesquiterpeno\u00efden zijn iets hoger in concentraties van 1,2% tot 23,0% sesquiterpeenkoolwaterstoffen en 1,9% tot 28,6% zuurstofhoudende sesquiterpeno\u00efden.<\/p>\n

Deze pas ontdekte wierooksoort heeft zich in het volle zicht verborgen. Deze wierook, die terecht Occulta Frankincense wordt genoemd, is even oud als alle andere Boswellia<\/em>‘s, maar bleef tot voor kort verborgen voor botanici.
