Finally I can clean my skin again, just ones.<br \/><\/span><span class=\"s1\">This way, Tanja will know whether my skin reacts on the cleansing or not.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">  <\/span>Well, all goes well!<br \/><\/span><span class=\"s1\">What a wonderful feeling!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1 thin-font\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"s1\">Unfortunately, I discover a red bump, a tiny one. Or is it a scar from the treatments? <br \/><\/span><span class=\"s1\">Normally I would scratch over the bump but I don\u2019t and cover it with granules. <br \/><\/span><span class=\"s1\">During the day I have to use foundation and in the evening also granules. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\t<section class=\"section\" id=\"section_1025644852\">\n\t\t<div class=\"section-bg fill\" >\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\n\n\t\t<div class=\"section-content relative\">\n\t\t\t\n\n<div class=\"row\"  id=\"row-896617439\">\n\n\n\t<div id=\"col-1512830016\" class=\"col small-12 large-12\"  >\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col-inner text-left\"  >\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\n<h3 class=\"thin-font\"><span style=\"font-size: 130%;\">Thursday<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"thin-font\"><strong>The only treatment of this week!<\/strong><br \/>The red bump isn\u2019t a bump anymore and Tanja can\u2019t discover any demodex in it. Well done, Wilma! <span class=\"s2\" style=\"font-size: 140%; color: #003300;\">\u263a<\/span><br \/>She checks my whole face and, just like last week, she\u2019s very satisfied. <br \/>My next treatment will be in two weeks. Most of the time, these mites are harmless and will go unnoticed.<br \/>However, larger numbers of <em>D. Folliculorum<\/em> can cause unwanted symptoms and skin problems.<br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p3\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span class=\"s1\"><span class=\"s1\"><em>D. folliculorum<\/em> live in or around hair follicles, feeding on the dead skin cells, oils, and hormones that build up there. <br \/>These mites usually live on the face, including the eyelids and eyelashes.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span class=\"s1\"><span class=\"s1\"><em>D. folliculorum <\/em>can increase the number of skin cells in hair follicles. This can give people the appearance of scaly skin.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>D. folliculorum<\/em> are more common in males than in females, with people aged 20\u201330 years old the most likely to be affected.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>D. folliculorum<\/em> are usually harmless but can cause problems for people with weakened immune systems.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Also, <em>D. folliculorum<\/em> are sometimes present in greater numbers in people with certain skin conditions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\n\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"p1 thin-font\"><span class=\"s1\">Studies have found that a person with rosacea can sometimes have four times more Demodex mites on their face than someone without rosacea! <br \/><em>D. folliculorum<\/em> have also been found in the tear ducts of people with ocular rosacea, which is a type of rosacea that affects the eyes.<br \/><i><br \/><\/i><\/span><span class=\"s2\">The mites are too small to be seen with the naked eye, so the doctor or therapist will usually do a skin biopsy. <br \/>This involves taking a sample of the skin and examening it under a microscope.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2 thin-font\"><span class=\"s1\">The mites are slightly shy and move during the night. <br \/>The females live separately. They wait for the more travel-loving male mites that come to visit them during the night.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2 thin-font\"><span class=\"s1\">It is important to determine the quantity of mites living in the skin. A small number of mites is unlikely to be the cause of an individual&rsquo;s skin problem.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"thin-font\">Demodex mites are more likely to occur on the face. This can make a treatment more challenging because the skin on the face is very sensitive<span class=\"s3\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"thin-font\">Ok.. to make it more interesting, there is also another type of Demodex mite that can cause problems.<br \/>The name is:<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\n<style>\n#section_1356887681 {\n  padding-top: 59px;\n  padding-bottom: 59px;\n  min-height: 300px;\n}\n<\/style>\n\t<\/section>\n\t\n\n\t<section class=\"section\" id=\"section_2003241825\">\n\t\t<div class=\"section-bg fill\" >\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\n\n\t\t<div class=\"section-content relative\">\n\t\t\t\n\n<div class=\"row\"  id=\"row-1016481072\">\n\n\n\t<div id=\"col-612176250\" class=\"col small-12 large-12\"  >\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col-inner\"  >\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\n<h3 class=\"p1 thin-font\"><span class=\"s1\" style=\"font-size: 140%;\">Demodex Brevis<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1 thin-font\"><span class=\"s3\"><em>Demodex brevis <\/em>is a type of mite that lives in the oil glands of human hair follicles. <br \/>It is closely related to <em>Demodex folliculorum<\/em>.<br \/>Collectively, <em>D. brevis<\/em> and <em>D. Folliculorum<\/em> are referred to as Demodex.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2 thin-font\"><span class=\"s3\">The mites are microscopic, meaning they are not visible to the naked eye. <br \/>While most people with <em>D. brevis<\/em> are not even aware that they are carrying these mites, those housing large infestations may experience symptoms<\/span><span class=\"s4\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"thin-font\"><span class=\"s3\"><em>D. brevis<\/em> feeds on oil called sebum in the oil gland cells.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2 thin-font\"><span class=\"s3\">The average <\/span><em><span class=\"s5\">D. folliculorum<\/span><\/em><span class=\"s3\"> mite measures 0.3 to 0.4 millimeters (mm) in length, while the <\/span><em><span class=\"s5\">D. Brevis has also been known to make skin conditions such as eczema and rosacea worse.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\n\n<\/div>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\n<style>\n#section_2003241825 {\n  padding-top: 30px;\n  padding-bottom: 30px;\n  background-color: rgb(249, 246, 244);\n}\n<\/style>\n\t<\/section>\n\t\n\n\t<section class=\"section\" id=\"section_1023650091\">\n\t\t<div class=\"section-bg fill\" >\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\n\n\t\t<div class=\"section-content relative\">\n\t\t\t\n\n<h3 class=\"p1 thin-font\"><span class=\"s1\" style=\"font-size: 150%;\">What Causes Skin Irritation and Inflammation?<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1 thin-font\"><b><\/b><span class=\"s1\">Mites don\u2019t have a rectum and therefore they can\u2019t lose their waste. <br \/>When they die and their bodies perish, the waste and bacteria that have accumulated in their bodies are released. <br \/>This can lead to serious skin irritation and inflamed rashes.<br \/>Here they are: the bumps, pustels and pastules!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1 thin-font\"><span class=\"s1\">A lot of information, right? But what can You do?<\/span><\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\n<style>\n#section_1023650091 {\n  padding-top: 30px;\n  padding-bottom: 30px;\n}\n<\/style>\n\t<\/section>\n\t\n\n\t<section class=\"section\" id=\"section_1999435523\">\n\t\t<div class=\"section-bg fill\" >\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\n\n\t\t<div class=\"section-content relative\">\n\t\t\t\n\n<div class=\"row\"  id=\"row-165171226\">\n\n\n\t<div id=\"col-1950588443\" class=\"col small-12 large-12\"  >\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col-inner\"  >\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\n<h3 class=\"p1 thin-font\"><span class=\"s1\" style=\"font-size: 150%;\">Home Care<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1 thin-font\"><span class=\"s1\">There are several ways to minimize the number of Demodex mites in the skin:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li2\"><span class=\"s3\">using a non-soap cleanser on the face once a day, in the evening<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\"><span class=\"s3\">exfoliating the skin regularly to remove dead skin cells and trapped sebum by the use of salicylic acid<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\">avoid oily cleansers, lotions, sunscreens and \u201cgreasy\u201d make-up which can provide further \u00ab\u00a0food\u00a0\u00bb for the mites<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p6 thin-font\"><span class=\"s1\">It is also important to manage any underlying conditions, such as infections, that may be contributing to high levels of mites. <br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1 thin-font\"><span class=\"s1\" style=\"font-size: 150%;\">Resume<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1 thin-font\"><span class=\"s1\">There are 2 types of Demodex mites and, I\u2019m sorry, we all have them. In our skin and specificly on our face!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"thin-font\">When your condition is good, you use the right skincare, no stress, no nasty hormones etc., they don\u2019t cause you any problem.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1 thin-font\"><span class=\"s1\">You will live happily together with your mites!
